Originally from Davidson, North Carolina Pam Brackett has more than 15 years experience as a commercial photographer, with emphasis on Location work. Pam specializes in Corporate, Advertising, Events, Public Relations, Community and Special Interest, Executive Portraiture, Documentary and Editorial photography capturing with her eye real people. Pams intrigue with people and cultures began as a child when she lived abroad in the Philippines, Okinawa and the Panama Canal Zone, as well as many parts of the United States. While working for the State Department in International Affairs located in Washington DC her intrigue with people and cultures became even more apparent. She started channeling her photojournalists eye and keen insight in 1988 when she made the decision to dedicate her life to photography. Spending two months photographing people and events for US News and World Report during the war-torn Nicaragua conflict, a turning point in her life, I wanted to make a difference, says Pam. Pam has photographed events for notable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Planned Parenthood and Woman's Business Owners Association, where she has featured Elizabeth Dole and Anita Hill. Pam has also been documenting the NAMES Project Memorial AIDS Quilt in Washington DC, since its inception in 1989 and has photographed Gloria Steinem, Tipper Gore, Judith Light and Liza Minnelli. In the political arena Pam has covered events and conferences ranging from Jesse Jackson, President Ortega of Nicaragua to local political campaigns featuring former Charlotte, NC mayors Harvey Gantt, Sue Myrick and Richard Vinroot. A few of her corporate clients include Bank of America, IBM, Duke Energy, AT&T, Allstate and Goodrich. Pamela's editorial work has been published in many prestigious publications including The New York Times, US News and World Report, The Charlotte Observer, The Journal of Petroleum Marketing Magazine, Business North Carolina Magazine and many other business and trade publications.
